Reed
Completed June 8, 2012. This drawing was inspired by the legendary George Reed, considered by many to be the greatest running back in CFL history. In November, 2006, Reed was voted #2 on (Canadian Sports Network) TSN's list of the CFL's Top 50 players of the modern era. Reed played his entire 13 year professional football career (1963-1975), 203 games in all, for the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders and his #34 jersey is one of eight that has been retired by the club. By the time he retired, Reed held career records in rushing yards (16,116), rushing touchdowns (134), and touchdowns (137). Reed's rushing yards total has since been surpassed by National Football League stars Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton, and, in 2004 by CFL star Mike Pringle. Pringle tied Reed's total of 137 career touchdowns, and George Reed still holds the CFL rushing for touchdowns record with 134. George Reed was voted the CFL's Most Outstanding Player in 1965 and in 1976 he was the inaugural winner of the Tom Pate Memorial Trophy for playing ability and community service. Between 1972 and 1981, Reed was President of the CFL Player’s Association. He was the MVP of the 54th Grey Cup of 1966, as Saskatchewan defeated Ottawa, his sole Grey Cup win. On October 9, 1973 in Regina, Saskatchewan, George Reed was honored with the unique proclamation of October 9 as George Reed Day. A naturalized Canadian citizen, Reed was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1978, Canada's highest civilian honour, and in 1979 was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

THE GOLDEN GOAL
In typical hockey art, the artist will blur the crowd into the background, making the players the focus of the piece. I wanted to show that Canadian fans were a HUGE part of this team and its success!!! I also wanted to make the piece one that the viewer could come back to day after day and always find something new and intriguing. There are 280 fans in this scene and every one of them is unique and has a detailed expression, both in their face and body language.

HOCKEY MOUNTAIN MEMORIES
This drawing highlights two hockey nets in red on a small pond rink set against a snowy peaked mountain backdrop. To me it represents the sport of hockey in its ideal setting. To you, it may represent some memories of playing hockey on a pond just like this, nestled in a mountain setting. To others it may conjure up Canadian imagery, or remind them of a popular brand of beer. No matter what it represents to you, I hope it brings a smile to your face today. The original size Limited Ediition prints are each individually signed and numbered out of 799 (representing the year 1799 in which the term "hockey" was first offically recorded in writing. The Little General
Completed December 15, 2011. This drawing was inspired by The LIttle General, Ron Lancaster, one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the Canadian Football League. In his 16 seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (1963?1978), he led the team into the playoffs 14 consecutive times, and made it to the CFL's Western Football Conference final 12 times. During that period, Saskatchewan represented the West in the Grey Cup five times (1966, 1967, 1969, 1972, and 1976) winning The Grey Cup in 1966.
Over Lancaster's 16 seasons with the Roughriders, they won 170 games with him at quarterback, and had only one losing record (1978); Lancaster's final season as a quarterback. He was the first quarterback in CFL history to reach 50,000 career passing yards, was a finalist for the Schenley Award as most outstanding player in 1966, 1970 and 1976, (winning in 1970 and 1976), was an All-Canadian in 1970, 1973, 1975 and 1976 and a Western all-star in 1966, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1975 and 1976. He was so dominant as a quarterback, that on the day that he died, which was 30 years after he retired from playing, he was still ranked in the top 3 in career stats in a number of categories:
2nd in touchdown passes (333, surpassed only by Damon Allen) [Eight months after Lancaster's death, Anthony Calvillo moved past Lancaster into second place.]
3rd in pass completions (3,384)
3rd in pass attempts (6,233)
3rd in yards passing (50,535)
In November 2006, the Canadian sports network, TSN, listed Lancaster in 7th place on their Top 50 Players of the CFL's Modern Era.
Ron Lancaster is greatly missed. He is a CFL legend and the pinnacle of Rider Nation.

This drawing represents the ten most notable Rider quarterbacks since their first cup appearance in 1951. Starting at the left: Glenn Dobbs, Ron Lancaster, John Hufnagel, Joe Paopao, Tom Burgess, Kent Austin, Reggie Slack, Henry Burris, Kerry Joseph and Darian Durant. The players are captured in progessive stages of a single play beginning with Dobbs taking the snap, moving through Austin as they look for an open receiver, committing to the run by Burris and finishing with a TD by Durant.
